When people seeking sanctuary find employment in our city, it’s good for sanctuary seekers, good for employers and good for our local economy and communities. We are working with partners to remove the barriers that make it difficult for people to find good work.

Campaigns

Lift the Ban

Currently in the UK, people seeking refugee status are banned from working whilst they wait months, and often years, for a decision on their asylum claim. We are members of the Lift the Ban Coalition, a national campaign calling for the UK government to give asylum seekers the right to work.

Employment Resources

In March 2024 we hosted an event at Bradford University bringing together local employers and organisations that support refugees into employment.
